- MEMS gyroscopes are inertial sensors of angular motion. These devices are based on Newtonian mechanics and are implemented using dynamic MEMS technology. In vibratory gyroscopes, Coriolis effect causes a coupling of mechanical energy between drive- and sense- vibratory modes. Drive-mode periodic motion is actuated electrostatically, while the sense-mode is detected capacitively.
